Story
In late 2025 I experienced ectopic pregnancy first hand, I had to undergo emergency surgery to remove both my pregnancy and my left fallopian tube. In the weeks that passed since my procedure, I found myself turning to The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust website, again and again. From answering questions I woke up with in the middle of the night and helping me deal with my emotions, to giving me hope for the future. The comfort this charity provides is second to none, however it does have limited resources and in order for them to continue their good work, they need people like you and me to show their support.
Ectopic pregnancy is a common, life-threatening condition that is the leading cause of maternal death in the first trimester of early pregnancy. The condition affects around 1 in 80 pregnancies in the UK and occurs when an embryo grows outside of the womb. The pregnancy can never be saved. A variety of treatments are available depending on the presenting symptoms and speed of diagnosis.
