Cynthia Spencer Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses and their families at the Hospice in Northampton and across Northamptonshire through our Hospice@Home Community Care Team; helping patients to enjoy the best quality of life possible

Story

In June 2025, Chrissie Johnson and Kully Juttla will be attempting to take a £200 18-year old Ford Mondeo through Britain, France, Switzerland, Germany and home again with The Rust Bucket Rally team on a 2500 miles trip in just 4 days! We will be fundraising for Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Northampton, and it goes without saying that the end of life care which these people provide is second to none. Whatever we can do to help this worthy charity, we should!

None of the money donated goes to cover petrol or snacks - we are covering all of that out of our own pockets. I’m making this crystal clear because I want you to know what you donate goes straight to the charity. Not us.

Below is a mission statement from the charity,

Cynthia Spencer Hospice is a charity in Northampton that provides palliative care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

The hospice faces the significant challenge of raising £2,208,823 every year, which breaks down to £6,052 per day, in order to continue providing essential services across West Northamptonshire.

The funds raised by Cynthia Spencer Hospice charity supporters are imperative for maintaining these services, such as inpatient care, outpatient services, wellbeing programmes, Hospice@Home, lymphoedema treatment and the palliative care clinical nurse specialist service. Importantly, donations also ensure hospice care remains accessible and free of charge to patients and their loved ones.
