Story

Thank you very much for visiting our JustGiving Page.

Jamie Haxton;

Myself & my family are going to be part-taking in the Off The Beatson Track Walk to raise money for Beatson Cancer Charity and the amazing work that they do.

In December 2024 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma Cancer (NLPHL). Hearing the word “cancer” was the most mentally challenging moment of my life – something you never imagine happening to you until it actually does.

Since then, I’ve kept myself very busy with my work and my training while going through active surveillance. Right now, no treatment plan has been advised, and I am displaying no other symptoms, but I’m incredibly grateful for the care and support I’ve had so far.

Another member of my family also got diagnosed with cancer about 1 week after I did, which was even more a shock to the system as you can imagine.

Jill Finlayson;

I’m reaching out because I'm supporting a cause very close to my heart.

I was diagnosed with a very rare type of cancer in January 2025 and in February had to travel to Basingstoke Hampshire Hospital to have an extensive surgery. I am now on a long recovery path and continue to have regular scans and check-ups at the Beatson Glasgow.

Since being referred to the Beatson the care I have received has been amazing. The staff are wonderful and make you feel so welcome and cared for at a very difficult time in your life.

Any donation is gratefully received.

We're raising money for Beatson Cancer Charity because they make a huge difference to people going through one of the toughest times of their lives. Every donation helps them continue to provide that care, support, and hope.
