Story
In November 2021, we devastatingly lost my father in law, David Choat, to Motor Neuron Disease.
MND attacks the nerves that control movement so muscles no longer work. Currently there is no cure, nor any effective treatment, and average life expectancy from diagnosis is just 18 months.
Inspired by Paul’s £75,000+ that he has raised so far for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, I’ve decided it’s time for me to do my bit for the cause. I won’t be climbing 282 mountains like Paul is currently attempting, however a half marathon feels like my Everest... On Sunday the 18th August, I’ll be running (crawling) the Scottish Half Marathon.
Before this year, I’d barely run further than a 5km, so a half marathon seems daunting to say the least. The pain will be worth it though to raise all important funds to help find a cure for this horrendous disease. Anything you can spare would be hugely appreciated by me, the Choat family and the MND community. 💙💛
