Step Up in January 2025 for the M.A · 15 December 2024 to 28 February 2025 ·

We’re challenging you to complete 250,000 steps—one for every pregnancy estimated* to end in miscarriage, molar, or ectopic pregnancy in the UK each year.

Story

This January, I’m taking on the Miscarriage Association’s #StepUpforMiscarriage challenge. I will be walking 250,000 steps across January 2025 and would love it if you could support my pledge by donating to this amazing charity!

In October 2023 we found out I had suffered a missed-miscarriage. Instead of walking away full of excitement and with a picture, as we'd imagined from my twelve-week scan, we were sent home with a pregnancy loss information leaflet and told to wait and see if intervention would be needed. Those were the scariest few days I have ever experienced and the months that followed were so immensely lonely and difficult to navigate. The guidance and information available from the M.A. made such a difference and helped me come to terms with the loss.

We named our baby Autumn and, thanks to the work that the M.A. does, we were able to get a certificate from the government honouring our loss of Autumn. I can't express how much having something with their name on it has helped.

This is a cause that is so close to mine and Joe's hearts, so when I found out last year about the #StepUpForMiscarriage challenge I knew it was something I wanted to do. I wasn't ready for it last year, but in January 2025 I'm pledging to walk 250,000 steps, one step for each of the 250,000 pregnancies estimated to end in miscarriage, molar, or ectopic pregnancy in the UK every year.

I’m proud to be raising awareness about pregnancy loss, sharing the vital support services the charity offers, and raising funds to ensure that M.A. can continue to be there for those who need them most.

Every donation helps the Miscarriage Association support people through the hardest of times, providing comfort, guidance, and a knowledge for those affected by pregnancy loss.
