Story
Next weekend I'll be taking part in the Robin Hood half marathon and I'd like to run it in memory of my dear friend Heather who died earlier this month. Heather volunteered in various ways at Hope House in Beeston and helped set up their monthly community meals. On the Hope website there's a quote from Mother Theresa that reads "I alone can't change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples", and this perfectly captures Heather's belief that individual action can lead to meaningful change and contribute to the greater good.
Hope Nottingham is a brilliant charity whose vision is to 'inspire and grow communities of Hope throughout Nottingham and beyond.' Some of the services offered just at Hope House in Beeston include a food bank with drop in cafe, a job group, a literacy group, a community allotment and a youth wellbeing, as well as other initiatives.
My running training has been sub-optimal (an understatement) so it's not going to be pleasant but I'll try to enjoy the event in the same way Heather did last year. It would be amazing if you could make a contribution to Hope Nottingham, even if it's just a couple of quid! Thank you!
