Story
On November 27th 2017, I got a call to say that Lisa, an outstanding, kind hearted woman, had died. She was killed by her boyfriend. Lisa was like an aunty to me, and her family have always been a second family to us. We were absolutely devastated and will never forget how wonderful she was. Her Mam has said she would be honoured for me to fundraise for Refuge, in the name of Lisa and to help raise awareness to help other people hopefully get out of abusive relationships before it's too late.
I also have experienced being in abusive relationships, and live with PTSD because of the actions of men being violent and abusive. I managed to get away but that was luck. So many people, like our Lisa, won't be so lucky.
I will be walking 60 Miles in September for Refuge. On any given day, Refuge supports thousands women and their children. I have disabilities and will be doing everything I can to reach this goal - please share this page and help show support!
Just £15 could provide essentials for a woman arriving at a refuge.
Many arrive with little more than the clothes they are wearing. Your donation could provide essentials like toiletries and food to help a woman through her first night.
Every £1 makes a difference. Thank you!
