Celebrating 15 Years of Surviving Gastroparesis – Fundraising for Salford Royal Gastro Research
In 2010, I fell unwell with a rare, chronic illness called Gastroparesis. A condition that impacts the stomach's ability to empty its contents, it took four long years to get a diagnosis due to its rarity. Sadly, despite years of research and progress, there is still no cure for this debilitating illness.
After 15 years of living with Gastroparesis, I am fortunate to have received incredible care for the past 11 years from my consultant, who is part of the dedicated research team at Salford Royal Hospital. Their work has been pivotal in helping me manage my condition, and now, I want to give back and help fund the ongoing research that will hopefully one day lead to a cure. That’s why I’m fundraising for the Salford Royal Gastro Research team. Every penny raised will go directly to them, supporting the ground breaking work being done to combat Gastroparesis.
As part of this fundraising effort, my husband and I are taking on several challenges to raise as much as we can:
My husband will be completing the Nantwich 10k, Tatton Park 10k, and the Shakespeare Marathon. I will be completing a 10k swim. Together, we’ll be hosting a charity football match at Nantwich Town FC, with a raffle supported by local businesses.
Your support means the world to us. Every donation, big or small, will help further the research into Gastroparesis, making a real difference for people like me who are living with this condition every day.
Thank you for helping me celebrate 15 years of surviving Gastroparesis and for supporting the hope of a cure.
