Story
I've decided that after five years of no running, to run a half marathon in October 2026!
Picture the scene - 2019 - The fittest I've ever been, had just run the London Marathon, and was running halfs for fun! I began training for the next London Marathon whilst on project in Samos and was feeling great!
Then 2020... we can skip this bit as we all know what happened...
Fast forward to now - 2026 (and two children later!) My fitness, body and energy levels are completely different. It's no secret that I've been struggling with self motivation and regaining what I once had in fitness levels. I've been having a loose attempt over the past year to start heading back to my goal weight and size, and I've decided I need to do something drastic to push myself, hoping I will remember some of my 'pre-baby' drive along the way!
That's when I applied for a place for Royal Parks Half Marathon in October this year! Not a 5k, not a 10k... A HALF!!
So, why else am I doing it? Aside from the above, I'm also fundraising for Asthma + Lung UK. Those who know me will know that this is especially close to my heart, and I have seen first hand how vital this charity is to supporting evidence for doctors and nurses, plus families. They’re the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
My goal is to raise £500 initially, but any amount we raise for this cause, I would be forever grateful. I also appreciate at this time that funds are tight for people, so even just spreading the link to this page amongst your circles would be worth it's weight in gold!
Many thanks in advance for all your love and support!
See you on the road!
