Story
On 4th October 2026 I will be running Cardiff half marathon for the first time and am raising money for the amazing charity Hope Rescue.
About Hope Rescue:
Hope Rescue aim to provide a place of safety for vulnerable dogs, rehabilitating and rehoming them whilst working towards creating lasting change to improve the welfare of all dogs. Collaborating with partner organisations to provide services to our local communities and support owners to help them keep their pets.
My running journey:
Back in September 2024 I started running with a few people from my gym. I could barely run for a minute before I needed to walk but with the help of an amazing group of people cheering me on I built up myself stamina and joined the amazing Run Grangetown crew in February 2025. In March I completed my first ever 5k race, swiftly followed by a second 5k in June where I set a PB of 36.01! After this I wanted a bigger challenge so signed up for CDF 10k, and despite being in a cast for that race I still smashed a PB.
Now it's time for my next challenge - Cardiff Half Marathon 2026! And to be raising money for such an amazing charity makes it even more special for me
