Story
Hey hey, so I’ve decided to be a crazy cat and take on a wild challenge: running the Hackney Half Marathon on the 18th of May! Apparently, I'm now a runner?
I’m running for Haven House Children’s Hospice, a charity that holds a very special place in my heart. Since joining the team in July, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible work this hospice does for families in our community.
Families with seriously ill children often experience emotional, physical, and financial strain. Haven House offers a lifeline—respite care, counseling, sibling support, and bereavement services, ensuring they have the necessary support throughout their journey. Our facilities also offer a range of activities, including music therapy, play sessions, physiotherapy, sibling days out, and special activities for parents and grandparents. These moments allow children and families to create precious memories, even in the face of adversity.
Every service—from nursing care to therapy, from counseling to family support—is tailored to the unique needs of each child and family. The incredible team of nurses, therapists, and support workers brings love, compassion, and care that’s truly transformative.
This run is for everyone at Haven House who inspires me every single day.
Thank you for your support, see you at the finish line and thank you for listening to me talk about doing a half marathon for the next 4 months. Much love x
