Story

Margaret and Pete's Indoor Skydive

On Sunday, 2nd November 2025, my mum and brother Peter will be taking on a challenge that once felt completely out of reach for her — an indoor skydive!

It might sound like a simple thrill, but for my mum — who has been wheelchair-bound for 15 years — it’s terrifying for her, to say the least!

Mum’s Story:

For the past 30 years, I’ve lived with Multiple Sclerosis, navigating the unpredictable nature of this condition with as much positivity as I can. Along the way, I’ve faced countless frustrations and setbacks — the kind that can easily wear you down. .

This journey has taught me something important: not to dwell on what MS has taken from me, but to find strength and joy in everything that remains.

My wheelchair isn’t a symbol of limitation — it’s a tool that helps me live life to the fullest.

MS is a condition that can affect anyone at any time, often striking people in the prime of their lives — typically between the ages of 20 and 50. It doesn’t discriminate based on age, background, or circumstance. Its symptoms are varied and unpredictable, making each person’s experience with the disease unique. One individual might live with mild symptoms, while another may face significant disability over time. That’s why raising awareness and offering support to the MS community is so important.

We are doing this to raise money and awareness for the Leicestershire MS Therapy Centre — a charity that receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations. They provide vital support to people living with MS, offering a space that values inclusivity and helps individuals overcome both physical and mental challenges.

Thanks to the incredible team at iFLY, we’ll get to experience the sensation of flight and freedom — something we hope will inspire others to break down their own barriers.

What makes this challenge even more special is having Peter by my side. His support gives me strength, and he’s just as passionate about raising funds for the MS Therapy Centre. His companionship means the world to me, and it adds another layer of purpose to our efforts. We’re taking flight together to give back to the centre that has given so much to me and my family.

This experience is a powerful reminder that our limitations often exist only in our minds. By taking on this challenge, I hope to show that with the right support and mindset, we’re capable of achieving extraordinary things.

Your donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference to the centre so they can buy new specialised equipment.

Please join me in making this a truly meaningful flight. Every single donation will motivate us to take this terrifying indoor skydive and help this wonderful charity continue its life-changing work.

Thank you for your support.

Margaret and Pete
