Story
I've chosen to do the 5k a day for Tommy's due to 2 losses.
I lost my son, Jack, back in early 2023 at 21+3 weeks gestation (so just over half way through my pregnancy). I then lost a 2nd baby later the same year at 9 weeks (this was a missed miscarriage). I was in the process of being seen by the recurrent miscarriage clinic run by Tommy's but was fortunate enough to have conceived with my rainbow baby. Who is here safe and well with me, and about to be joining me on my daily challenges 🦋🕊🩵🤍
Having lost my son in early 2023 at 21 weeks was world shattering. To then lose a second child, by miscarriage later that same year is indescribable. Having charities like Tommy's is so important for a multitude of reasons. They are dedicated to saving babies lives through research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature labour. They also provide support where needed whether that be navigating baby loss, looking into why losses happen within your family or future family planning. As you can imagine, such charities are so so important to me. This challenge will run across baby loss awareness week (9th to 15th October), which to me, holds a strong place in my heart.
I am taking part in the Tommy's 5km a Day in October challenge to help save babies' lives.
I’m fundraising for Tommy’s, who exist to stop the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss and make pregnancy and birth safer - for everyone.
Tommy's is dedicated to finding causes and treatments as well as providing trusted pregnancy and baby loss information and support.
Your donation could help fund vital research to find answers and make breakthroughs happen.
Thank you for supporting me and Tommy's.
