Story
So… I’ve signed up for a sponsored walk. Yes, a walk. On purpose. Voluntarily. No one is more surprised than me.
For context, I’ve been having treatment for lymphoma since June 2024, after a diagnosis of Stage 3 Non-Hodgkins took me, and everyone else, by surprise! So naturally, I decided the next logical step was… more steps.
This is also part of my “40 before 40” list — because apparently I’ve reached the stage of life where I set myself meaningful goals, and then immediately question my life choices. But fundraising for Lymphoma Action felt like a pretty good one to include.
Even better, I’m not doing this alone — I’ll be walking alongside some of my cheerleaders, who will be there to encourage me, keep me smiling, and gently (or not so gently) stop me from turning back halfway.
Lymphoma Action is an incredible charity supporting people through the rollercoaster that is lymphoma — offering proper information, real support, and reassurance when the internet is being dramatic (which, let’s be honest, is always).
Training for this walk is… character-building. Some days I stride. Some days I shuffle. Some days I dramatically consider whether sitting down counts as “interval training.” But every step is for a brilliant cause — and if I make it to the finish line without needing a lie down halfway through, I will consider that a personal victory.
If you can donate, I’d be hugely grateful. Your support will help Lymphoma Action keep doing the amazing work they do — and will also emotionally obligate me to keep walking when I’d much rather be horizontal.
Thank you for cheering me on, supporting a fantastic cause, and helping turn my questionable decision-making into something genuinely good 💜
