Story
I decided to do a crazy thing to celebrate turning 50 - 50km ultramarathon, Race to the King. I would love it to be about more than just me running and so I decided I'd run to raise money for Soulscape, a charity that I have been involved in for the last 4 years.
Soulscape is a fantastic charity based in Wokingham, working in Berkshire schools to give young people the space they need, to think through things that are going for them and in the world around them. A fantastic team, largely of volunteers deliver workshops, mentoring, reflective spaces and weekly safe spaces for young people to just be. The young people always receive an unbiased listening ear and are able to be themselves and share their cares and needs. In a world filled with so much change and pressure, teenagers need these kids of spaces and relationships.
For 3 years I was able to give my time and visit schools regularly, now that I am school chaplain at Shiplake College I can't do that any longer, but I continue to give my help and support where I am able, and this is one way in which I can help.
Please consider giving something to this great work, it will definitely keep me going when it gets tough on my run.
