Raising funds for Melanoma Research

Story

Hi as many may know I am training for the London Marathon to be run on 21 April. This is a bucket list event for me, running the London Marathon and after 10 years of entering the ballot I have finally got a place! ( I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I found out!)

Training has been going well, so thought I better start fundraising. I am raising money for 2 charities. Royal Marsden and Freeshop Crawley a small local food bank.

The first is Royal Marsden Cancer Charity for Shomelanoma, for Shiona who has been treated at the Royal Marsden and has so far raised an amazing £100k for melanoma research. Shiona who was diagnosed with melanoma back in 2016, has used her incredible skills to raise these funds and I have over the years helped out either skipping, attending comedy nights and running the Royal Parks Half to contribute in a small way.So would love to raise some more for Royal Marsden and all the great work they do,

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. We ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.

From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
