Story

Hey guys! 2025 was quite a year fundraising for mental health and suicide awareness- and I plan to keep going with it! Through this year, I’ll be taking on a series of expeditions and challenges to continue raising money for these causes. Thankyou so much for your ongoing support and please pass this link around if you can!

Over my travels, I spent over a year out in Uganda, where I met and briefly worked alongside Derek - a psychiatrist, and his mental health team. There are 70 psychiatrists in Uganda, and 45 million people.

That means there is one psychiatrist for approximately every 640, 000 people in Uganda- making Derek and his team’s work, incredibly significant.

Recently, the hospital has been low on funds, meaning patients don’t have the same access to treatment. In a culture where mental illness can be very largely stigmatised, this can have catastrophic effects- socially, at home, work and financially.

Money out in Uganda goes a long way: with half of the working population here earning around 46 Euro per month.

So, donations have life changing effects. My goal is to keep Derek and his team’s doing what they are doing, and supporting patients with the medication and support that they need- for as long as possible.
