Story
MindSpace is a local mental wellbeing charity that has worked tirelessly to remove barriers for people in our community to protecting and enhancing their mental wellbeing.
We provide a welcoming space for people to be listened to and to access activities that enhance their wellbeing- we are there for people when they need us.
Since joining as a trustee in 2020, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible journey and growth of this small charity and the number of people it has been able to support.
Unless a trustee was there, the doors didn't open. We offered 3 sessions per week for people. NOW we have a dedicated team, we are in our second, much improved hub space and we offer over 30 different sessions per week. Many of these are led by people who have come forward to share their time and skills with their community voluntarily- including people who offer services as a small business, but want to do something kind for their community as well.
Getting here has not been easy and as chair of the charity, I have worked tirelessly to secure funding and expertise that fuel this growth, but sustaining and expanding these services requires ongoing support.
In May 2026, I will be stepping down as chair after an incredible journey. To celebrate this milestone and continue empowering our community, I am participating in "Miles for MindSpace," a walk event that everyone and anyone can get involved in- visit: https://mindspacestamford.com/miles-for-mindspace/
I would like to aim to raise £1,000 to support the tireless work of my colleagues and volunteers. Today, I ask you to support me in this effort—will you sponsor me or at least buy me a coffee (figuratively speaking)? Your generosity will help ensure MindSpace Stamford remains a safe and welcoming space in our community, and will mean so much to me.
