Molly Evans is raising money for Refuge

250km 5-day ultra 18-22nd August

Refuge opened the world’s first refuge in West London in 1971. We support thousands of women & children every day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.

Story

One in four women will experience domestic abuse at some point in their lifetime and on average one woman is killed every 5 days in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Behind closed doors, many people live in fear, isolation and uncertainty, often believing they have nowhere to turn. No one should have to face that alone.

This challenge is about standing with those affected, raising awareness of the support available, and helping ensure that more people can access it when they need it most.

This August, I will be running 250 kilometres from Belfast to Dublin over five days to raise money for Refuge.

Refuge is the UK's largest specialist domestic abuse organisation, providing life-saving support to women and children experiencing domestic abuse. Their work includes emergency accommodation, a 24-hour helpline, community services, advocacy, and practical support to help survivors rebuild their lives free from abuse.

This challenge will push me to my physical and mental limits, but it is insignificant compared with the strength and resilience shown every day by those escaping abuse. My 250-kilometre journey will begin with a single step, just as the journey towards safety and recovery often begins with the courage to reach out for help.

If you're able to support this challenge, no matter the amount, your donation will help Refuge continue providing safety, hope and practical support to those who need it most.

Thank you for being part of this journey and helping to make a difference.
