Story
So we have made the crazy decision to run our first half marathon 21st September 2025. My running BFF Rachel Suitor and I have been training hard, but this year with the help of core fitness NI and our running coach Davy, we are as ready as can be.
This is the biggest challenge I/we have ever attempted. We are hoping by trying to raise money for a charity which is so close to my heart, this will give us that strength and motivation to make it to the end . 💜
It's been almost 13 years now since I lost Leanne in her fight with Cystic Fibrosis, but she is still with me every day.
Leanne was only 29 years old, when we lost her. Her beautiful daughter was only 9 at the time. 12.12.2012 a date which will always be remembered.
Leanne's mum Yvette , dad John and family/ friends know how much any money at all can help those patients suffering with even the simplest of things. We have asked for any funds raised to be allocated to Northern Ireland as there are no other charities specifically dedicated to CF care at home.
CF has touched the lives of many people close to us, friends, family and others we care about. Watching the daily battles they face is heart-breaking and inspiring! This is not just a cause, its personal.
Cystic Fibrosis Care supports people with Cystic Fibrosis, their families and specialist CF centres and hospital units.
CF Care know that many families and patients are struggling with the cost of living, travel to hospital, or the cost of re-training for work or enabling emotional counselling and much more. We provide hardship and welfare grants, emotional support, essential medical and physio equipment, and fund the training of CF nurses to provide a better quality of life for those with CF.
