Scott's fundraiser for Belhus Cricket Club Stewart Farr Charity Day

Scott Sinfield is raising money for Mid & South Essex Hospitals Charity
In memory of Stewart Farr

Belhus Cricket Club Charity Day · 30 August 2026

Working to support Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, our aim is to improve the hospital environment, fund ground breaking research, support the development, training and wellbeing of hospital staff and provide state-of-the-art equipment, across Basildon, Broomfield & Southend hospitals.

Story

Belhus Cricket Club host an annual Charity day in memory of a legend of a member, Stewart Farr. Stewart was a long term member at Belhus Cricket Club and we lost him far too young.

To remember Stewart and with the blessing of the family, we choose charities that are close to the hearts of people associated with the club.

This year our main charity is the Breast Reconstruction Awareness Charity (BRA), in accordance with the Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity.

The BRA charity was established in 2005, and is a charity dedicated to raising awareness of breast reconstruction options after breast surgery and providing support to those facing this journey. Some of the work that BRA does is:-

Ward equipment for patients pre and postoperatively

Support Bra's and Bra extenders

Surgical information booklets

The establishment of the Essex wide risk reducing mastectomy team.

Funds research projects

Refreshments at "Show and tell" events.

This is a cause that means a great deal to our club, as someone close to the Belhus CC family has personally benefitted from the charity's support and asked if we could support BRA where possible. Their work has made a real difference, and we'd love to help ensure they can continue supporting others in the future.

Throughout the day we'll be raising funds for these fantastic charities, and we'd be incredibly grateful for your support.

One such event is that a member of the club has agreed to get his hair cut. This in itself under normal circumstances would not be a big deal. However, for our friend Bobby Lille, this is a massive gesture.

You will see from the pictures on the front page who Bobby is and why this is such a big deal.

As such, we hope you would be willing to support Bobby in this gesture for a great cause.

We at Belhus Cricket Club would like to thank you all in advance for your support.

Regards,

Belhus CC Management Board
