Story

Bella’s Sponsored Horse Ride for Quest RDA 🐴

Hello! My name is Bella and I’m 10 years old.

I’m taking part in a special sponsored horse ride with Quest RDA on Sunday 29th March 2026 to raise money for a place that means the world to me.

I have a complex SEND profile, including Autism and ADHD, which can sometimes make everyday things a bit harder. I can find busy places, school, new situations, and big feelings tricky to manage and can struggle to feel like I fit in. But there is one place where I always feel happy, calm, and proud of myself — Quest RDA.

Quest RDA is an amazing charity that helps children and adults with additional needs experience the magic of horses. When I’m with the horses, something wonderful happens. Riding helps me feel brave, confident, relaxed, happy and proud of what I can do. It helps my self-esteem grow, gives me a sense of belonging, and helps me feel accepted and included.

The horses also help me with my sensory needs and my social, emotional and mental health. Being around them makes me feel calm and safe, and every ride helps me achieve something new.

Last year, thanks to some incredibly kind sponsors, I managed to raise £1,000 for Quest RDA, which I was so proud of! This year I’m very determined to smash that record and raise even more to help this amazing charity.

RDA also gives me a real sense of achievement. Last year I even qualified in 1st place for the Championships and the Nationals, which made me feel so proud and showed me what I can achieve with the support of Quest RDA and the wonderful horses.

Quest RDA is run by an amazing team of specially trained staff and dedicated volunteers who work incredibly hard to support children and adults like me. They give their time, care and patience to help every rider feel safe, included and able to achieve their best.

Looking after the horses, the facilities and running the charity now costs around £100,000 every year, so Quest RDA relies heavily on donations and fundraising to keep helping people like me and many others.

Because Quest RDA helps me and so many other people, I want to help them too! That’s why I’m completing another sponsored horse ride to raise money so the charity can continue helping riders like me.

Every donation, big or small, will help Quest RDA continue their amazing work and give more children and adults the chance to feel the same happiness and confidence that I feel when I ride.

Thank you so much for supporting me and this wonderful charity. 🐎💛

Love,

Bella X

Quest rides take place at Laris Farm in Chobham in the large outdoor school or through the Woodland Trail. Horse riding offers an opportunity for enjoyment, challenge, friendship, laughter, achievement, independence and confidence, not just for our riders, but for our volunteers as well. Throughout the week and at the weekends, teams of volunteers help provide rides for small groups of children and adults from the surrounding area.Watch a short film about us at https://sunflowereducation.box.com/s/zq2asrejj1msuryahzlfrptgpajqtk7w
