Belle’s School Assembly Hair Cut for The Little Princess Trust

Belle Turnham-Matthews is raising money for Little Princess Trust

Hair cut donation · 23 April 2026

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Hi, my name is Belle and I’m 11 years old.

On 23rd April 2026, I will be cutting 30cm of my hair in front of my whole school during assembly to donate it to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real-hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their hair due to cancer and other illnesses.

The Little Princess Trust relies entirely on the generosity of its incredible supporters to help give “Hair and Hope” to so many children and young people with cancer each year.

For many children, losing their hair isn’t just about how they look. It can affect their confidence and how they feel about themselves. A wig made from real hair can help them feel more like themselves again.

I decided to do this because I realised that hair grows back — but confidence can take much longer to grow back. If cutting my hair can help even one child feel happier and more confident, then it’s completely worth it.

I hope my donation helps another child feel more like themselves again during a difficult time.

I’m a little bit nervous, but I also feel proud. I want to show that no matter how young we are, we can be brave, we can be kind, and we can help others.

If you’re able to support me, donations of any amount would mean so much. All proceeds will go directly to The Little Princess Trust.

Thank you so much for your kindness and support.

— Belle
