Peter and Jo’s ‘110th’ birthday walk · 18 May 2024

Rowans Hospice provides end of life care across South East Hampshire. We help improve quality of life for the patient around the clock. We receive a very small level of Government support and almost all of the money required to provide our services needs to be raised through voluntary giving.

Story

This May, Peter will turn 70 and Jo will turn 40! We wanted to mark this ‘110th birthday’ by walking 16 miles on the 18th of May to hopefully raise money for the Rowans Hospice who provided the most exceptional care to Margaret in her final days in July last year.

The hospice felt like a (much needed) caring hug of a place. A space where we could concentrate on loving each other and being together. They took care of everything else.

Rowans Hospice provide palliative care to the highest quality for those living with a life-limiting illness in South East Hampshire. Their hospice carers help improve quality of life for the patient by easing physical symptoms and offering psychological, spiritual and social support to both patients and their loved ones. Hospice care is available round the clock. They receive a very small level of statutory support from the Government, however, almost all of the money needed to provide their services has to be raised through donations and fundraising
