Scottish Half Marathon 2026 · 16 August 2026 ·

We are a trauma-informed Scottish health and wellbeing charity that supports people of all ages to overcome the negative impacts of trauma, mental health, inequality, and isolation.

Story

On Sunday 16 August, I’m tackling the Scottish Half Marathon — 13.1 miles starting just outside Edinburgh and finishing up on the track at Musselburgh Racecourse.

I’m raising money for LinkLiving, a charity that’s been supporting communities across Fife, Falkirk and Edinburgh for 25 years.

A lot of what they do is everyday stuff that changes lives quietly: helping a young person set up their first flat, providing a safe space to work through trauma, or just sitting down for a cup of tea with someone who's isolated.

Two areas they focus on really matter to me: men's mental health (making sure guys have support before reaching a crisis) and early intervention for young people.

As LinkLiving says, their job isn't to fix someone's life for them—it’s to believe in them until they can believe in themselves.

If you can spare a few quid to sponsor me, I would really appreciate it. Every bit helps keep their vital work going. I’ll keep you all updated on how the training (and the legs) hold up! I’m also aiming for sub 1:30 (bad bad bad idea)
