My Dad was diagnosed with Lewy Body dementia 18 months ago. It is likely that he had been suffering from the disease for maybe 2 years before diagnosis.

It is a particularly horrible form of dementia. It has been heartbreaking to see what it has done to him. He is currently being cared for in a very nice nursing home.

The disease often leaves families helpless in what they can do to help. So I decided that if I could raise some funds and awareness of this awful condition that it might help future treatments and understandings.

The Lewy Body Society was founded in 2006 to support research into Lewy body dementia and to raise awareness of the disease. We aim to educate the public, the medical professions and those in decision-making positions about the disease, which unfortunately is still not well known.
