**Trekking the Sahara in Memory of my Mum Cindy Supporting St Wilfrid’s Hospice**
Hi, I'm Ben, and in October this year , I’ll be taking on a life-changing challenge: trekking across the Sahara Desert to raise vital funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice – a place that gave my mum dignity, care, and peace in her final days.
In March 2020, my amazing mum passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Watching her go through that journey was heartbreaking, but what brought immense comfort to us all was the compassionate care she received at St Wilfrid’s. The hospice was more than a medical facility – it was a sanctuary. The staff offered not just expert care, but warmth, kindness, and support that extended to our whole family.
Now, I want to give something back.
**The Challenge**
The Sahara trek is no small feat: blistering heat, endless sand dunes, and days of walking through one of the harshest environments on Earth. But every step I take will be for Mum and for all the families who will one day need the comfort of a place like St Wilfrid’s.
**Why St Wilfrid’s Hospice?**
St Wilfrid’s Hospice provides specialist care for those with life-limiting illnesses. They rely heavily on donations to continue their incredible work – from providing pain relief and emotional support to helping families navigate their most difficult moments. Your donation will help ensure more people get the care and dignity they deserve at the end of life.
**How You Can Help**
Please consider sponsoring me. Whether it's the price of a coffee or something more – every pound makes a real difference. Together, we can honour my mum’s memory and help St Wilfrid’s continue their life-changing work.
**Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.**
With love,
Ben
