Story
On Sunday the 14th April 2024 I will be taking part in the Manchester marathon to raise money for The epilepsy society.
Since going through a traumatic experience in 2021 which lead to my diagnosis of epilepsy last summer, coming to terms with this has been very difficult. Over the last year I have really struggled to come to terms with the diagnosis and it has had a massive impact on my emotional an mental health even stopping me from playing the sport I love football due to the incident happening there. This lead to some really bad anxiety and panic attacks which I’m still learning to deal with.
I’m slowly starting to get back to my usual confident and outgoing self and have made some massive changes to my life over the last year to help improve my mental health. By setting myself this challenge of running the marathon it’s proving to myself that I can achieve whatever I want despite having the condition.
I also want to shine some light an raise money for something that has grown close to me over the last two years an help people navigate through there journey.
