At 1200 Saturday the 27th of May, I’ll be on the start line of the Long Distance Walkers Association (LDWA) 100 mile challenge walk. Known as the Elephant, Bear and Bull 100 on account the route starts in Moseley, Birmingham and heads through Worcestershire, Warwickshire and finishes back at Moseley Rugby club. Although not as hilly as some previous LDWA 100’s, it is still a 100 miles walking non stop for around 40 hours. It’s definitely not going to be a walk in the park, especially at my age. I’ll be looking to raise money for a charity that is very close to home and very close to my heart.

Herefordshire has a large community of former military service personnel. Being exposed to events and challenges that can make them more vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation that is a common issue affecting the Armed Forces community. The HVSC was set up to provide a one stop shop of support and a friendly listening ear for anyone in the Armed Forces community in Herefordshire that may be experiencing issues or requiring support in other areas of life or work.
