Story
UPDATE March 8th. Unfortunately I'm going to have to pull out of this year's Manchester Marathon due to injury. I'm very grateful to everyone who's donated. I have told MNDA that I will run the 2027 Manchester Marathon instead, and they said that the total I've raised on this page can be carried over to the new page for the 2027 marathon.
This April I will be running the Manchester Marathon for the MND Association.
I'm running it in memory of my father, David Crellin, who died from Motor Neurone Disease four years ago.
I'm forever grateful for the support I received from my friends, family and the fantasy football community when my dad died, and I'm hoping you can all support me in my fundraising efforts now.
5-10% of MND cases are inherited, and my brother and I have the same MND gene that our dad and his mother had. There isn't a cure for MND. The MND Association are funding research for a cure, and they also help people affected by MND. I was very appreciative of the help they provided for my family while we cared for my dad.
I've never done an organised race before but I love running, especially over the North Pennine fells, as you can see in the cover photo of me and my dad there over 30 years ago! Manchester won't be quite as picturesque, but I'll appreciate the flat roads. I'm expecting to finish the race in around 3 to 3.5 hours.
Please donate if you can, this cause means a great deal to me.
