Story
October 2024 changed our lives forever. A diagnosis of Glioblastoma turned Hilary's happy and vibrant life into one filled with significant challenges. Just a month earlier, we were enjoying the beauty of Glencoe, but now, the reality was a wheelchair and a new journey ahead.
Everyone who knows Hilary has been touched by her kindness, love, and warmth over the years. The courage displayed in facing this new chapter is nothing short of inspiring.
Thank you for supporting my fundraising efforts for Macmillan Cancer Support. When cancer strikes, it feels as though your world has been turned upside down. Your worries become Macmillan’s; they provide a lifeline when needed most. In those early stages, they guided us with compassion and understanding, holding our hands through every step of the journey.
However, without your help, Macmillan cannot support everyone who needs them. Sadly, there will be many more people facing similar situations in the future, and Macmillan needs all the support it can get to continue their vital work.
I will be participating in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival on May 24th, 2025, running for Hilary, an incredible individual who inspires me every day. Although I can only manage the 10km due to time restrictions, this run holds special meaning for me.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and secure. Your details are safe; JustGiving will never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, your money goes directly to Macmillan Cancer Support—making it the most efficient way to contribute while saving time and cutting costs.
Together we can make a difference.
