Later this month, we will be driving a field ambulance, as part of a convoy, delivering essential humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

For the last few years, Ben has been working with a Ukrainian web development team. This experience, coupled with the daily news, has brought home the immense struggle that the people there have been dealing with. After two and a half years of constant conflict, we want to try to make a meaningful contribution to help save lives and directly support those who have now become the first line of defence for the rest of us in Europe.

There is a charity, called Pickups for Peace, who deliver field ambulances loaded with humanitarian aid to Ukraine. These 4WD pickup ambulances and aid are used to treat and evacuate the injured from the front.

We are raising funds to help towards buying two of these pickups, and cover the required fuel and travel expenses. We will then drive the vehicles to Lviv in Western Ukraine, arriving in early November. When the convoy reaches Lviv, the aid is passed to a volunteer network, who then ensure the vehicles and aid reach their final destinations within days of entering the country.

Funds raised through JustGiving are sent directly to the charity, making it a really efficient way to donate.
