Story
Every half of football, every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 12,000 men every year. One in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. As many of you will know, it is a cause close to my heart. My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer after a family friend encouraged him to have a PSA blood test. He was totally asymptomatic. After an operation and rounds of radiotherapy, he is doing well – touch wood – but not everyone is so lucky and, unfortunately, I, like many others, have lost friends and colleagues to what is an awful disease.
So, I will be doing the Bath half marathon this Sunday to raise funds and awareness (and then hotfooting it over to Cardiff as quickly as possible to cover Wales v Croatia). This page is typically all a bit last minute because my injury record is on par with that of Abou Diaby‘s – or any other injury prone players you can think of – but your support really is much appreciated.
