Open Sight Hampshire provides a lifetime of support to visually impaired people of all ages and their families and associates, and delivers expertise in every aspect of sight loss.

Story

Our gorgeous boy Toby was born with a rare genetic eye condition called Aniridia which means he has no irises (the colored part of the eye) as well as other parts of his eyes which haven’t developed properly. There is no cure, or any real treatment so this has a big impact on his vision and how he will learn about the world. Toby needs specialist input to maximize his visual development as far as is possible and to help him learn and grow in other ways that don’t just rely on his sight. Even at 9 months old Toby is being spoilt with play and sensory opportunities and the chance to meet other children with visual impairment- all thanks to the marvelous support of OpenSight for which we and Toby are incredibly grateful. It is also wonderful for us to meet others with similar experiences of raising babies and children with limited vision 🥰

At OpenSight, we are dedicated to empowering people living with a vision impairment across Hampshire to lead independent, fulfilling lives. Our mission is to provide tailored support, advice, and activities that help individuals of all ages overcome challenges and embrace opportunities. Your fundraising will enable us to expand our vital services, from early years support for children to practical guidance for working-age adults and social clubs for older people. Building confidence and empowering lives together!
