Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for Lymphoma Action. I am taking part in the 2026 Paris Marathon to raise funds for this cause, which is a charity that is close to my family. In 2017, my Auntie Verena was diagnosed with lymphoma and began treatment, going through consecutive courses of different chemotherapy treatments. After achieving remission we were devastated to discover that Verena’s lymphoma returned a couple of years later. However, she was offered the opportunity to receive ground-breaking CAR-T cell therapy and was so brave as she remained in isolation for several weeks in hospital, where she underwent this very specialist treatment. My auntie had battled her lymphoma for so long and was on the verge of being confirmed in remission when she sadly contracted Covid-19. Although the CAR-T cell therapy had been successful, Verena’s immune system was so severely compromised that her body was unable to fight the virus and Verena sadly died in October 2022.
I wish to raise funds for Lymphoma Action, which is the only charity dedicated to lymphoma in the UK, and whose work drives improvements in the diagnosis, treatment and aftercare of Lymphoma, the 5th most common cancer in the UK.
Donations of all amounts will be hugely appreciated, as it is people’s generosity that helps to continue the great work that Lymphoma Action do.
Thank you!
