I have been invited at short notice to join a Reach Beyond mission team in Greece. Other team members unfortunately had to pull out due to medical reasons and I am stepping in to help with the project.

The project is called Trash2Treasure and is a brand new initiative that uses plastic recycling as a ministry. We will be working with a Greek Christian organisation called Petalouda (Greek for butterfly) who are reaching out to transform marginalised Greek Roma communities. Petalouda has a wonderful ministry serving women and children but has always struggled to engage the men and youth. Trash2Treasure seeks to overcome that, as waste plastic from the community and beyond is collected, ground into pellets, melted and using injection moulding formed into new products. Relationships and trust are built, skills are transferred, and Christ is shared.

I'm hoping to raise £2000 to cover transport, accommodation, food and a project contribution. Any money raised in addition to this will go to the project too.
