Climbing Mont Blanc for the Children of Watamu

Mont Blanc 4,810m

Children of Watamu has, since 2000, been transforming children's lives. The Happy House, opened in 2010, is home and family to up to 100 children-orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected. We have added a high-achieving kindergarten and primary school and junior secondary school.

Story

This June, I will be taking on an incredible challenge, alongside six friends - climbing Gran Paradiso and Mont Blanc, two of the highest peaks in the Alps, both over 4000m. Over six days, I'll be pushing myself physically and mentally with the final goal of reaching the summit of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe.

But this challenge isn’t just for me. I’m doing it to raise money for The Children of Watamu, a charity that’s incredibly close to my heart.

Why This Matters

Grace and I sponsor two incredible little boys, Victor and Stephen, who live at The Children of Watamu’s home in Kenya. Last year, we had the privilege of visiting them and seeing firsthand the love, care, and opportunities this charity provides.

One of the biggest challenges these children face is what happens when they turn 18. That’s why I’m raising funds to help build a much-needed halfway house, giving these young adults a stepping stone to independence.

The Challenge Ahead

I’ve been training hard for months, climbing nearly every weekend to prepare for the endurance needed to take on these mountains. From Pen y Fan and Corn Du to Helvellyn, Skiddaw, and Snowdon, I’ve been pushing myself to be ready for this climb.

How You Can Help

Every donation, big or small, will go directly towards building the halfway house, giving these young adults a safe place to continue their journey.

If you’d like to support me, please consider donating to my fundraising page. Your generosity will make a real difference in the lives of these children.
