The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Service covers a geographical area of 3500 square miles and serves 2,500,000 people.

I am raising money to help with 'Mission Possible 2', set up by the charity to secure the £500,000 required to get the second air ambulance off the ground by Autumn 2027.

Due to the increased number of call outs the existing helicopter is not able to respond to all incidents, now five per day on average. A second helicopter ensures potentially life saving response to the 400 calls a year which sadly at present have to remain unattended. These vary from cardiac arrests, road traffic collisions, as well as equestrian and farming incidents, and not forgetting cyclists and walkers.

This service is often the difference between life and death.

In order to raise the funds I will be participating in the World's Toughest Mudder at Belvoir Castle over the last weekend in June, swapping the orange air marker panel of the past for an orange headband instead! The event is held over 24 hours and takes place over a 5-mile loop around the grounds, littered with various obstacles to challenge even people far fitter and younger than me! 51 years young if you are asking!

It will no doubt be a perilous challenge but made all the more worthwhile by your contribution and support, no matter how big or small.
