Story

On 13th and 14th October 2023 I am running two marathons over two days through the Sahara desert fundraising for the City of London Police Charity for Children.

Established in 1972, the City of London Police Charity for Children is run for the benefit of children and young people and helps tackle sickness, crisis, disadvantage, and disability. It provides funds for individual children and for groups. The charity has provided funds in various ways and since January 2010 has donated over £132,000 to many different families, schools and other worthwhile causes.

The charity can provide assistance in many different ways and some examples include:

Specialist Equipment - for learning (computers, toys), for around the home (adapted furniture), or to assist with exercise or mobility (sports equipment).

Activity Courses - to help improve social/communication skills or provide respite breaks for those who would otherwise not be able to go away.

Play Areas - providing equipment for children with various disabilities, enabling them to enjoy activities they otherwise wouldn't be able to take part in.

Schools - upgrading computers or funding specialist equipment.

Sponsorship - we have in the past sponsored a team of disabled riders at local pony club events as well as two brothers who regularly represented Britain in disabled sports tournaments.
