Story
I’m incredibly proud to be running the London Marathon 2027 for the MND Association in memory of my grandad, George, who we lost in February 2021.
Watching him lose his independence- the ability to do everyday things most of us take for granted- was heartbreaking. MND is a cruel disease that strips away dignity and freedom, and no family should have to go through that.
That’s why this isn’t just a marathon for me. It’s personal.
Every mile I run is for my grandad and for everyone living with MND. While I choose to push my body through the pain of training and race day, people with MND don’t have that choice. If anything, they would give anything to feel that strength again- and that perspective is what drives me forward.
I’m fully committed to this journey, training consistently each week and pushing myself to be ready for the challenge. But I can’t do the most important part alone.
Your support can make a real difference- funding vital research, supporting families, and helping to fight back against this devastating disease.
If you can donate, share, or simply support in any way, it would mean a huge amount- not just to me, but to everyone affected by MND.
People like my grandad didn’t get a choice. I do- and I’m choosing to run for them.
Every penny you donate matters.
£10 could pay for lab analysis of 50 samples, to see how activity of a gene might be changed when a person has MND.
£35 could buy a memory box for a child to create lasting memories of a loved one with MND.
£75 could inspire a rising research star to devote their career to MND discovery by attending our MND EnCouRage conference for early career researchers.
£100 could help a person with MND read to their children even when their voice is beginning to fail, by providing a voice amplifier.
