Story

I am reaching out to share my journey and ask for your support as I take part in ‘RACE TO THE KING’ a Non-Stop 100km foot race along the South Downs Way & Monarch's Way in memory of someone who meant the world to us all, my best mate, brother-in-law, and business partner - Scott Dobson.
Scott faced pancreatic cancer with incredible strength and resilience, and I want to honor his memory by raising funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK, a charity that is dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by this devastating disease.
Why This Charity Matters to Me:
Pancreatic cancer is often diagnosed late and has one of the highest mortality rates of all cancers. Scott's battle with this illness opened my eyes to the urgent need for funding in research, support, and awareness. During his journey, I witnessed the challenges faced by Scott & his amazing family.
It was heartbreaking to see someone so full of life fighting a battle that felt so overwhelmingly unfair.
By supporting Pancreatic Cancer UK, we can help fund vital research to find more effective treatments, improve early diagnosis, and provide support for families navigating the complexities of this illness. I believe that together we can make a difference in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
About the Event:
On Saturday 21st June I will be lacing up my running shoes to complete a 100km run along the South Downs Way & Monarchs Way: RACE TO THE KING.
A challenge that symbolizes the endurance and strength that Scott displayed throughout his life. This race is not just about the miles; it’s a tribute to his spirit, a way to remember the laughter we shared, the memories we created, and the dreams we had for the future.
How You Can Help:
I invite you to join me in honoring Scott by making a donation to Pancreatic Cancer UK. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will have a meaningful impact. Together, we can support crucial research and provide hope to those affected by pancreatic cancer.
You can donate through my fundraising page and I would be incredibly grateful for your support. If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this message with others who may wish to help.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. Let’s run for Scott and for everyone affected by pancreatic cancer.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Ben
We are Pancreatic Cancer UK.
We go above and beyond for everyone affected by this disease. Right now, half of people with pancreatic cancer die within three months of diagnosis. Families are left with only hope to hold onto. They need more. So, we do more.
We bring more breakthroughs through research, more change through campaigning, and more support through our expert nurses. We make more noise because people have gone unheard. We are relentless because the disease is ruthless. We care more because people feel forgotten.
