Climbing Ben Nevis in Bare Feet · 19 July 2025

Keswick Mountain Rescue Team comprises 45 members, all unpaid volunteers, who are available at all times of the day and night in any weather, 365 days per year, to assist those in distress and lost on the mountains of the northern Lake District. Currently, we attend about 136 rescues a year.

Story

On 19th July 2025, we’re climbing Ben Nevis barefoot - no shoes, no socks - to raise money for Keswick Mountain Rescue.

Our friendship was built on a shared love of adventure in the Lake District, but we know how quickly things can go wrong in the mountains. That’s why we’re taking on this challenge to support the volunteers who are always ready to help.

Keswick Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) is made up entirely of volunteers, responding to over 100 callouts a year - from injured walkers to lost climbers - all without charging a penny. They rely completely on donations to keep going.

Every painful, rocky step up Ben Nevis will be worth it if we can help keep KMRT equipped, trained, and ready to save lives.

Please donate if you can - every bit helps.
