Story
This summer I will be travelling to Zambia for 8 weeks to take on the role of Women's Football Development Officer, in partnership with Loughborough CVA, Volunteer Zambia and The Wallace Group. My role will entail mentoring and supporting local coaches and match officials, with the goal of developing a sustainable environment that offers long-term opportunities for women and young people through sport.
Football is one of my greatest passions and has played a huge role in my personal and professional development. It has opened doors I never believed would be available to me and has given me some incredible opportunities and experiences. I hope to use my experiences to give back to the sport that has shaped me and really utilise my passion for officiating and football development to make a sustainable difference in Zambia.
While eight weeks may not be enough time to change an entire country, I strongly believe that by offering the same development, support, and mentoring that I have received, in a way that continues long after I leave, I can definitely help create lasting impact. If I am able to open even a few doors and help others access valuable opportunities, they never thought possible, it would mean a lot to me, and I will treasure it for the rest of my life.
Any donation or support towards this journey will mean the world to me and really help shape my belief into action. It will help create opportunity and lasting difference to young people and women that are less fortunate than me and rarely have valuable access to the sport I love.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. I hope to return home able to share the positive changes made and the impact this experience has had on the communities involved.
