Story
In December 2024, my son received a diagnosis of Autism. This journey has been incredibly challenging, yet it has also opened our eyes to the beauty and complexity of this condition. We have learned so much about Autism and how to support those who live with it every day. While it can sometimes leave us feeling helpless, we have found strength in love and understanding.
As April is Autism Awareness Month, I felt compelled to take action rather than succumb to feelings of inadequacy. I am excited to announce that I will be participating in a personal challenge: swinging a 24kg kettlebell 5000 times over the course of 6 hours on April 26, 2025. This equates to 14 swings every minute! Yes, it will be tough, but the effort is worth it when I think about the incredible work being done by Autism Angels.
Autism Angels is dedicated to supporting young people and families affected by Autism through mental health and wellbeing initiatives. They provide therapeutic coaching, equine therapy, and alternative learning opportunities at their outdoor care farm—no diagnosis is needed to access their invaluable services.
I kindly ask for your support in this endeavour. My target is to raise £1,000 for this amazing charity. Every contribution counts and will help raise awareness for Autism while providing essential resources for families like ours. Together, we can make a difference!
