Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm running 26.2miles around London for the wonderful Twins Trust.

Personally, I've never been as shocked as when the consultant scanning Sara told us "this one is fine, and so is this one" as it dawned on me that the baby I was hoping for wasn't alone. Similarly I felt utterly overwhelmed at having two sets of needs to try and meet and balance given while on one level they were the same, on another they were conflicting. As my twins have grown, being able to meet and interact with other families who have twins has been so helpful in terms of advice and support to the particular struggles of parenting two kids of the same age.

Twins Trust provides support for parents of multiples from the moment of realisation that there's more than one baby through into the parenting journey. Support starts with classes to help understand the different needs multiples have and goes through into offering research and counselling for those who have multiples or are multiples themselves. A key thing the Trust does is support parents where there's been complications around birth and early childhood helping parents to cope with that whilst still attending to both kids needs. Not an easy task.
