Only A Pavement Away was founded by my great friend Greg Mangham and his lovely wife, Gill. It exists to support people looking to rebuild their lives through employment opportunities in hospitality.

Back in the early days, Greg reached out and asked me if we might be involved and PubLove became the test pilot employer partner.

We soon took on the first ever candidate and were able to help refine the only a pavement away processes to ensure maximum impact for all future candidates, charities and employer partners.

Later, Greg asked me to become a trustee (I know, right?) and I’ve been lucky enough to have a front row seat into the amazing work of this charity ever since.

I’m taking part in a hike in the Brecon Beacons to raise some much needed funds to help Only A Pavement Away to continue its amazing work.

So here I am, over a stone lighter thanks to my intensive training regime of walking between pubs and I’m on the scrounge.

Only A Pavement Away's Fourth Annual Hiking Against Homelessness Event takes place in the Brecon Beacons on 17th May. The brainchild of Georgia Mangham - daughter of Greg - has seen so many people interested that we couldn't wait to plan another one!

This year our team of just 30 hikers will take on a 15km hike across the most challenging parts of the Brecon Beacons in aid of raising money for our incredible members at Only A Pavement Away.
