My London Marathon challenge for Deafblind UK

Ben Stephenson is raising money for Deafblind UK

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Deafblind UK runners take to the famous streets of the capital in the world's greatest 26.2-mile challenge supporting people living with deafblindness across the UK.

Story

So… I’ve signed up for the London Marathon. 26.2 miles. On purpose. 😅

I’m running to raise money for Deafblind UK, a charity that means a lot to me. I’ve been partially deaf since I was a kid, so I know all about the challenges of not always hearing (or being heard). If I had £1 for every time someone’s had to repeat themselves to me, I’d have smashed my fundraising target a few times over — so here’s your chance to make that joke come true!

Deafblind UK does incredible work supporting people with sight and hearing loss, making sure no one feels isolated or left behind.

I can’t promise I’ll run it fast, but I can promise I’ll give it everything I’ve got. Every step, blister and dodgy energy gel will be worth it if it helps raise money for this brilliant cause.

If you can spare a few quid — even if just a £1 for everytime you have to repeat something — I’d be hugely grateful. Thanks for supporting me, and for supporting Deafblind UK 💙
