Story
In a world where many struggle to express their feelings and seek help, the importance of open conversations cannot be overstated. Talking can truly be life-saving – whether it’s with a colleague, a family member, a friend, or a helpline like Samaritans. Every 10 seconds, dedicated Samaritans volunteers respond to someone in need. Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, they offer a listening ear and unwavering support to those facing challenges, all without judgment.
I have experienced my own mental health battles and a good friend of mine, James Hartley k/a Jim sadly lost his battle. I know Jim did not open up about the challenges with his mental health.
The incredible work of Samaritans is made possible by the generosity of the public and the commitment of around 23,000 volunteers who ensure that help is always available for anyone struggling to cope.
As I prepare to participate in the Manchester Marathon on April 27th, 2025, I am inspired by their mission and motivated to contribute.
I am aiming to raise £1,000 for Samaritans through this marathon. Your kind donations will not only support this vital service but also help spread awareness about the importance of mental health conversations. Together, we can make a difference in countless lives.
Thank you for your support! This one’s for you Jim x
