Story
From time to time I agree to take on a challenge that I am ill equipped to complete. This is one such beast. I am feeling confident about the first peak and circa 10 miles having completed this as part of my "training" but I will be relying on a healthy stock of sweets and fundraiser's guilt to get me over the other two peaks and 16 miles. To that end I would be very grateful if you could sponsor me.
I am raising money for Outwood Out There. This is a young people led volunteering program. In recent years, our students have been surrounded by a false narrative of division and difference. They have told us though Pupil Voice that they want to get out there and make a difference but they need your support to help them be the change-makers they aspire to be.
The scale of the project is immense. Across our Trust, there are over 30,000 students who could potentially take part, with a staggering 33% coming from a disadvantaged background. This fundraising is specifically to provide the structured, enriching experience of Outwood Out There and provide a prize bank of experiences to build cultural capital and access opportunties that they may not otherwise get. It also provides many with the opportunity to develop the skills and confidence to become agents of change within their own communities.
Outwood Out There's mission is simple: to inspire our pupils and empower them to drive positive change. It's not just about funding a volunteering program; it’s about empowering students.
