Story
Thanks for checking out Ben & Sean’s Third Adventure! Our last smashed its target, raising 147% for The Samaritans. This time, we’re aiming even higher.
Three years ago, my younger brother passed away at just 52. Thanks to the incredible team at St Luke’s Hospice, he spent his final days at home. We’ll never be able to thank St Luke’s enough, so this year’s challenge is all about giving five more families the same gift of dignity and comfort.
Here’s what we’re up to:
My brother and I shared a love of motorcycles—he was a brilliant rider. In his honour, Ben and I are riding from Land's End to John O'Groats AND BACK on 125cc learner bikes.
We are heading up the West side of the country and back down the East side - using only cycle routes (A roads and B roads): no motorways, and no dual carriageways. This journey is going to test us—physically and mentally. But it’s nothing compared to what families face when a loved one has reached the point of palliative care.
St Luke’s needs £14.5 million a year to keep going. Only 20% comes from government funding. Every home care package costs £1,000, and residential care costs over £11,000. Every penny we raise on this page goes straight to St Luke’s—none to our costs.
Please help us give others the same care my brother received. Donate what you can. You’ll be making a real difference as the sun sets on someone else’s journey.
Thank you.
